Sharing more tactical elements with smaller vessels than with its size-class counterparts, the Deimos represents the final word in up-close-and-personal cruiser combat. Venture too close to this one, and swift death is your only guarantee.

Developer: Duvolle Labs
Rumor has it Duvolle was contracted by parties unknown to create the ultimate close-range blaster cruiser. In this their engineers and designers haven't failed; but the identity of the company's client remains to be discovered.
A logical progression of the Thorax, the Deimos is designed as a platform for hybrid turrets (blasters and railguns). It can fit a microwarpdrive and burn towards the enemy to melt them at close range, or it can try to kite enemies.
Skills
Further information about additional or recommended skills to pilot Deimos for a specific or its common role(s) can be written here.
Tactics
The Deimos can deliver very high on-paper DPS with blasters, or respectable DPS at railgun ranges. Its bonus for armor repairers helps it mount active armor tanks, and lets it burst tank using an ancillary armor repairer especially effectively, which might make it more suited to solo and small-gang fights. The Deimos has some typically tough T2 damage resistances, especially against kinetic damage, but the other hybrid turret HAC, the Eagle, can mount a larger buffer tank and fight at longer ranges, and might be more suited to large-scale fleet contexts.
Notes
In ancient Greek mythology Deimos was the son of Ares and Aphrodite, and twin brother of Phobos. He represented or personified terror and dread. The two moons of the planet Mars are named after Phobos and Deimos; Deimos is the smaller of the two.
