Pontifex

Summary

The Pontifex is the Amarr Command Destroyer. Following the Amarr design principles, it has bonuses to armor and information Command Bursts. In its role to armor bursts it competes with the Magus which has less tank. This makes the Pontifex preferable. In regard to information bursts it competes with the Stork (and the Draugur). If you have shield logi support you choose the Stork, if armor logi the Pontifex. In fleets without logi, the Pontifex has neither a clear advantage nor disadvantage over the other Command Destroyers providing the same bursts.

Skills

Further information about additional or recommended skills to pilot the Pontifex for a specific or its common role(s) can be written here.

Tactics

Like all Command Destroyers, the Pontifex provides Command Bursts and can use a Micro Jump Field Generator. See the respective pages for the tactics involved.

Notes

The command destroyers were added in the December 2015 patch, sometimes called the Frostline patch.

The word pontifex was used in ancient Rome for the most senior priests in the city's polytheistic religious practices. After the coming of Christianity, the word became attached to the Pope; it is the ancestor-word of present-day English pontiff.
